We have had amazing support for our strike – from the community, from other colleges, from local businesses and, most importantly, from our students, who know that we are striking, not only to defend our contracts, but also to defend the future of the college. They know that cuts to sick pay, holiday and an increase in workload will impact the education that teachers can provide and they want a resolution to this dispute. Once again, we say to management – withdraw the contracts and sit down and talk to us!
The comments here show how learners value their teachers, and the comments in this article: FE News – Learners’ uni hopes hit by strike show how the college cannot operate without teaching staff. We call on college management to come and negotiate with its staff.
